Some new forms

I sat down at the wheel yesterday and worked on some new forms. Just getting to know my wheel again, haven't thrown anything in ages. It was a good day, no rush, just listening to what the clay wanted to say. It's cold here, more rain and snow coming. Let me up, I've had enough!

Tell me how much and send me a mug when they're out, Tracey. Nice stuff.

Ha! You better wait to see it fired! Looks can be deceiving. I have a cobalt terra sig on that mug, I'm trying out an idea..... I should make them in ^10 clay and send the bisque to you...collaboration mugs :)

Or you could do that. Happy to fire them, any time. I just fired the kiln today, empty of pots but with all the new shelves in there.

good shapes and I love the old photo.

Cobalt terra sig? Sounds like that might turn out rather nice! I second Hollis' first comment! Or would a trade be more to your liking?

Tracey,

I know your probably wanting to get this new studio up and running as fast as possible but I thought you might find this link interesting. We're beginning to build a sauna house using shipping pallets, plastic bag insulation, and poplar milled from our property. Good luck:

Love the old photo, those shapes - and your shapes - and how you've captured them in your photos. Beautiful.

Thanks guys! I love trades, always up for that! Nick, I checked out the pallet project, very cool. I love the idea of re using and I am trying to do that as much as possible with this project.

I was thinking of a two story barn for a studio for you the other day. Used building materials is a great idea; one time I got four double pane windows at a garage sale for a pittance which I put into a studio I had when I lived near Mt. Lassen. You had me fooled with the top photo, I thought they were new pieces you made, they are cool buildings, one of these days I'll find a used potter's wheel on craigslist and do some throwing.

Thanks Laura, this might be the mug I love if I don't "f" it up with glazes! Linda, you should definitely find a wheel, all kinds of opportunities for altering clay with that!
